Friday challenge: Write a Defy Danger trigger for each of the attributes. No duplicates.

Prompt: A guard is standing in front of an open doorway that leads into the watch tower. It is night. This tower is surrounded by a moat and the dense Tirres forest. Your goal is to ring the beacon bell before midnight.

Example

Str: Bum rush the guard

Dex: Climb up to the lodging room window

Con: Hold breath in moat and enter sewer grate

Int: Concoct a Rube Goldberg type distraction

Wis: Observe and time the guards vision pattern

Cha: Cause fear in guard to flee

  1. Prompt: Escape the Oubliette!

    Str: Break the Chains

    Dex: Grab the rope

    Con: Survive the Fall

Int: Solve the Riddle of the Hidden Door

    Wis: Avoid the Drugged Wine

    Cha: Charm the Guards

  2. Prompt: The goblin archers draw back arrows and search for a target; their eyes fall on you. What do you do?

Str: Let the arrows come! I smash them aside with my shield as I charge forward!

Dex: Eek! That’s a lot of arrows. I feint left, and then dart to the right to take cover behind the broken column.

Con: Goblins have a weak draw; their arrows are puny and tumble in the air. What few make it to me won’t hurt much. I stride toward them, grinning malevolently.

Int: Luckily i was thumbing through my unabridged volume of 1001 Uses for Toads ; it’s a huge tome, bound in thick toad hide. I’ll crouch down, and shelter beneath it. Perhaps i can finish this chapter while they run out of arrows. (Mark one use of Bag of Books)

Wis: They are used to targets running, ducking, dodging for cover. They ALWAYS shoot left or right, overshoot or undershoot. I’m gonna hold real still while their arrows fall around me. No flinching!

Cha: They haven’t found a target, they’ve found a spectacle. I call out my favorite dirty jokes in goblin tongue and caper about, distracting them from shooting long enough for Alys to sneak up behind them.
