Does anyone know of a low magic or magic free substitute class for the wizard? I’ve been trying to make my own sage/scholar type but wouldn’t mind finding an already made one.

Seeker from Stonetop sort of fits the bill, but they come with a lot of additional baggage (the major & minor arcana) and I’m not sure how well they’d translate to other settings.

What sort of niche are you looking to fill (if it’s not a spellcaster)?
Jeremy Strandberg The Seeker looks really good. The right Arcana can help it integrate into the setting.
I want to fill in the magic user niche, either from divine connections/ancestry or wielding arcane forces. But I want the class to feel more like traditional myths and legends.
Like Merlin, Gandalf, Medea, or Obi-wan Kenobi. Sage’s who are wise and farseeing, Not walking Artillery or Heal Bots. A little healing, a little fire, or force, but power is used sparingly and responsibly. Less fireballs, and putting the Wisdom in Wizard.

Peter J I’m bookmarking this class. A little tweaking perhaps, but just about read my mind.
I like the Wizard from A Sundered World.
