Anyone got any cool ideas for moves for some cultists to do? Its a death cult that’s been kidnapping lumberjacks to serve a mysterious necromancer ( he’s the long dead king who has come to reclaim his throne from his descendent and convert his people into an undead horde)
My team has practically 0 magic potential. The only one with an ounce of magic is a cleric who can cast arcane missiles as he is a human
•Emerge from the populace (use this to reveal a nice NPC has been on their side all along)
•Smear their blood on flesh to spread the rot (if a PC rolls a miss while attacking but you want to give it to them anyway, consider some blood splatter and disabling a limb!)
•Intone ancient necromantic scripture (hint at some creepy arcane/divine knowledge the PCs could get ahold of if they just dont kill this cultist)
Do something unpredictable and damaging at the cost of their own self preservation.
Cultist don’t need special abilities; their fanatical behavior can provide ample scariness. Alfred Rudzki’s ‘Emerge from the populace’ is a superb example of that.

Special Qualities: Unshakable belief; Ignore injuries; Live (seemingly) normal lives; Identity is hidden (until unmasked)
Instinct: Provide sacrifices to their god
Moves:
– Surround and capture
– Carry away sacrifices
– Switch identities
– Sacrifice themselves for the cause
