Not sure if it should go under Discussion or Base Classes, because I’m not actually posting a class I made.
This is more of a request. One of the members of my RPG group has been asking to play an Onmyōji since he started. If it’s possible, could any of you make an Onmyōji class for him? If not, can you give tips on how to modify an existing class to fit the archetype better?
What would that be for us not in the know?
Oh, sorry! It’s kind of a Japanese mage of sorts. Not 100% sure.
Here’s the wikipedia article: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onmyōdō
Wizard with the cleric petition move; no spellcasting but with ritual.
I could look it up in class warfare tomorrow.
Ok. Not home atm to check Class Warfare, but I can discuss it with my friend.
I think the first thing to do would be to talk to the player about what exactly they envision an onmyoji to be. Based on that wikipedia article, they seems to have been fortune-tellers and diviners.
I’m talking to him, and he prefers ones based on the novel Teito Monogatari. With spell cards, servant spirits, mudras (hand motions/signs), etc.

Why not vanilla Wizard then?
The flavor isn’t exactly the same, but we can try.
Flavor is very easily changed. 🙂
Cool, thank you!
