Has anyone had any experience with Sixth World – the hack of Shadowrun? I’m interested in taking our group back to Sea-Tac, but I’m not sure it’s the right hack for our players… #Shadowrun #SixthWorld

Unfortunately I haven’t been lucky enough to ever play the original Shadowrun game, or the Sixth World hack. BUT I have read the hack extensively, and as a diehard fan of both cyberpunk (the genre and the original RPG) and Dungeon World, I personally think that Sixth World an awesome hack, probably my favourite of all the ones I’ve seen so far. It really twists the mechanics of Dungeon World in unique and interesting ways, from the lack of traditional hit points to a much more open set of moves for each class. I would jump at the chance to play the hack proper, so I hope that you enjoy it if you do end up playing it!
I ran a couple of adventures with Sixth World. Didn’t really get to delve too deeply, but it was easy and fun. Allowing the players to define bits of the background and story gave it a unique feel (in our game it was determined elves were all bald and covered in tattoos, and were never originally human).
Where can I check out #SixthWorld ? I’m curious to see how it differs from Hamish Cameron’s #TheSprawl .
I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about and playing Shadowrun. Not playing the that world now, but if I did, I’d use TechNoir to run in.
If you search RPGnet there’s a thread with a couple of different versions. The text does a really good job of emulating the feel of SR, but I haven’t had a chance to play it yet.
