Only played once, but can’t wait to pull that setting out again.
Well, session one went pretty well. A brawl between the party, covered in blood and barbecue sauce, against a hydra ended with the gladiator chewed on, the dragon mage careening off a waterfall, and the winter mage freezing the hydra and sending it off after her. About the best you can hope for when you go up against a thousand pounds of carnivore, really.
X-Crawl meets Dungeon World. Now why didn’t that occur to me? Great idea, sir!
X-Crawl’s always worked better as a meta-concept you put onto whatever version of D&D or D&D-a-like you prefer than as an actual book or setting.
