I will play the IW captain and multiclass into Animal Companion so that I have 3 characters. Sounds reasonable right?

Them you double multiclass to Swashbuckler and you got 4.
You, your ship, your animal and your awesomeness.
(If you don’t understand, wait to see Italian illustration for the Captain… Old Spice Mer)
You can have ALL THE CHARACTERS if you want.
Or Multiclass into Latern to get the little light.
If you want more characters, let me introduce these fine Burglars*; yours for only 5 coin a month^
(*other Hireling types& available)
(&Not all Hireling types may be available in your area)
(^Does not include agency fees or compulsory life insurance)
But they are not “your” characters.
Have you read the OSR class called the Goblin Enchantress? She can use charmed goblins as a resource, sending them to explore, attack, defend, etc. (And they keep dying Goblin Quest style.) If you came up with a DW version, you could have dozens of characters.
You just need to make it to level 10 …
What makes a character “your” character, then? Do you have some particular mechanical definition in mind?
They are not his in the sense that they are ultimately controlled by the GM, and he can only make requests, not state exactly what they do.
What about a “multiple personality disorder” character? Think “Me, myself and Irene”.
Should write a cc…
You really shouldn’t.
I shouldn’t. But what about me?
