Hey everyone I am thinking of working on my own ‘hack’ for Dungeon World. I love Westerns and I think a Western theme with a bit of light-fantasy / steampunkish vibe thrown in could be really interesting. I was really wondering is there any interest in that idea?

I think it’d be cool. Spells and revolvers. You could come up with rules for posses, and a move or two for showdowns.
Ooh maybe a fantasy stand-in for horses. You could have “cowboys” but maybe they ride something more fantastic.

I think a great starting point would be Spellslinger, a D20 Minigame in the Horizon line by FFG.
My humble attempt, temporarily shelved as I work on other stuffs. It emulates more gritty western fiction, since when you get shot you die . No weird or magic.
The few sessions we played worked very well.
I was actually thinking about adding weird to it the other day. The attribue – skill system will work pretty well.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I am definitely going for a weird west feel. It will be very much rooted in the DW style of play.

One key concept I am going to use is that Mammals are very scarce. For transport and food-products people have had to turn to the use of massively oversized insects.
