Of all the Dungeon World playbooks out there (paid or free, doesn’t matter), which ones would you say fit a “whimsical” adventure best? Not necessarily comedic– whimsical.

Can’t wait for the answers to this one!
I tend to think that whimsical is almost totally dependent on how they’re played. Not what they are.
i made one (well 80% of one… it still needs finishing) that is based on someone who eats magical beans, that’s pretty whimsical I’d say 😀
I’ma big fan of the spell slinger. You can really ham it up while playing it.
Definitely the Collector from Inverse World. You can have a collection of whatever it is you want (living, magical, mechanical) and pull out something useful for any given situation on the fly. I think that mechanic definitely lends itself to whimsy rather nicely.
the princess
the dashing hero
the fae
Christopher Stone-Bush While I agree, there is something inherently lighthearted about some classes, as opposed to something inherently darker about others.
Andrew Murphy Do you want someone to playtest it? I’m going to offer a whimsical DW night for my Wednesday night group soon. Magical bean-eater would be an awesome playbook to offer.
I second the Collector. That was one of my favorite classes. That was the playbook that I played with you, Stephanie. The goblin that collected mutated creatures.
I remember that one. In my home Inverse World game, our collector was a collector of bones and souls…. the Collector can also be very creepy!
I third the Collector. In a PbP game I played, I was literally a Pokemon master.
Stephanie Bryant sure here is the WIP, even if you dont play it would appreciate any feedback you have 😀

That’s really funny, Andrew. I’ll give it a good read over next week.
Bard and Druid (if they don’t turn into giant dinosaurs) fit the bell pretty great.
Grim World’s Necromancer, carrying several entire corpses in canopic jars, cannot be taken seriously by me.
Dashing Hero, Swashbuckler, any of the Pirate classes could be, either Princess class, and um the Fool.
Tim Franzke How is turning into a dinosaur not whimsical?!?
Depends if your focus is on the tiny hands or the terrifying maw.
Tiny hands, of course! Raawr!
