Probably a very newb question.
Is the default assumption that ammunition for every shot is tracked and each use of the Volley move consumes one shot with the exception of a 7-9 result where you may expend an extra one as well?
Similarly, when a Wizard (or similar class) casts a spell, he only loses a prepared spell if he rolls 7-9 and chooses that option. Otherwise he can cast the same spell next time if he or she chooses.
Just trying to get a few things sorted in my head.
The opposite really: ammo is only deducted on a 7-9 if the player chooses the third option, the general idea being to not spend too much time fiddling with resource tracking.
for the ammunitions: you have a number near “ammunition” (like, 4) on your equipment. That doesn’t directly represent how many arrows you have, and counting them is not the point. That number only diminishes when you roll a 7-9 and choose that option, otherwise it remains untouched.
Wizard spells: right y’are
Like Matt and Nikitas said.
Ammo is more like “how close you are to your last arrow”.
Gotcha
Same with the spell casting. Ammo can also be lost if the GM chooses that as a move.
Actually, by the rules, the choice is the player’s, Trickster H.
Yes, on 7-9, not 6-
“AMMO” is an abstract concept, here is a post I had on the topic: (edit wrong link)

Matt Balara He means the GM can use up their resources, as a GM move, on a 6-.
Ah, yeah, sorry about that Trickster H. You are of course correct.
