Indeed. Uncharted Worlds, currently in development. http://www.story-games.com/forums/discussion/18726/uncharted-worlds-a-space-opera-game-of-exploration-and-debt/p1
Disclosure: The creator is my regular GM. But he’s been working on it, and playtesting it on our weekly group, for well over a year, and it’s nearing the point of a Kickstarter.
Oh man do I have the thing for you! http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/112308/Adventures-on-Dungeon-Planet
It has great rules for ships and stuff as well as monsters. Though I am not really a big fan of the playbooks, you might like them just fine.
Johnstone Metzger, the author of Dungeon Planet, is also working on a Traveller-esque game… the name of which escapes me.
I’ve got a project in the works, but it’s closer to AW than DW.
I posted some spaceship rules earlier this month and I’m using them to play a guardians of the galaxy style game of Planarch Codex.
John Harper Debtrunner
Uncharted Worlds, by Sean Gomes,

is much further along than Debtrunner (large parts of which I need to rewrite). It’s probably still closer to AW than DW, but not as close to AW as Rob Brennan’s Traveller World, which you might also be interested in.
Adventures on Dungeon Planet is really cool.
And it’d make a great Guardians game.
(I’m working on a more hard scifi game without FTL)
I am so sorry my Dungeon Planet phb fizzled and died. Lesson learned: there’s an important step after choosing Bonds in setup.
Michael Llaneza Whats that step?
“Let’s get into detail about why you’re all here.”
There is also Sundered World, which as I understand it is going to be like Spelljammer in DW.

Oooo, Jarrah James ! That’s almost perfect for what I’m working on. YOINK (plus credit)
William Timmins thanks, although I just stuck bits of pre-existing classes together, mostly. For what it’s worth, the hack is mostly built for doing Star Wars or Guardians of the Galaxy, but it could be used to do other stuff relatively easily.
Yeah, those are good starting points for my STL SciFi, particularly since you’ve removed the magicy bits more thoroughly than, say, Adventures on Dungeon Planet.
yeah. if you don’t offer the Psi Adept as a PC class, you don’t have any magicy bits at all.
