I’m looking for a good one-shot for my upcoming turn as GM. Everyone’s familiar with the system already. Any recommendations?
(Time constraints are an issue, so if there’s pregen characters too that’d be nice, but I can put ’em together myself if need be.)
I strongly recommend against pregens. Character creation takes about 15-20 minutes tops, and is such an important part of the game. From there, have a strong image of where you want the game to start – running out of a temple, for example. Ask the players questions that follow from that – what are you running from? Who is this temple dedicated to? Etc.
My inclination toward pregens is just because we’ve ONLY got 3 hours to work with (time differences and whatnot) and I wasn’t planning to go into a second session (we have a main game to get back to) but yeah, I guess if I keep ’em quick and constrain it to base classes.
Yeah, that’s plenty of time! At most, character creation and world building should last an hour, and that’s if you go really in depth. You’d probably be able to do 2.5 hours of game time.
Lady Blackbird even though it is not AW.
I recommend some a dungeon starter. They give you a very good base for a session.
