OUCH! A while back I convinced my whole group that we should support local talent (we’re from Vancouver and so is Adam) by buying physical copies of the book. Since none of the stores around here had any, we ordered 5 copies from IndiePress Revolution. Shipping was $25, which isn’t great but seemed reasonable since we were splitting it up.
The problem was, IPR shipped via UPS and we got charged $47 in brokerage and taxes!
My wallet is crying a lot right now 🙁
That sucks, Jared! We know IPR isn’t the best place for Canadians to get books from but distribution up in our fair country is a bit of a mess. I’m sorry to hear about (and totally empathize with) your troubles.
I heard they used to ship via USPS, which is much more reasonable. Ah well, live and learn.
I think it’s only fair that you sign our copies now!
Yeah, I haven’t ordered from IPR for a while, and when I did I got USPS. They must have changed it. Too bad, because that “brokerage fee” is bullshit.
What are the odds of a POD option, Adam Koebel? Possible?
Adam Drew not possible. We are too attached to the book-as-artifact to use pod, right now.
