Between core DW, Inverse World and Dungeon Planet, with some kludging/kitbashing you could pretty easily run a “Wars Among the Stars” game, which could or could not include a magic/supernatural element…

Ultimately, I’m hoping someone stumbles on a “Heavy Metal” version of Dungeon World.
Adam Koebel “World of Metal”? Seek inspiration form Brütal Legend. Though the game sucked, it was a glorious setting 😀
Craig Hatler I’ve always wanted to make a hack on DW partly inspired by the Innistrad plane from MtG.
Kasper Brohus I’m way behind on Magic, so I’m not sure what that means.
Adam Koebel I’ve been less-than-diligently composing a hack to do space opera. Then Dungeon Planet came out, which gave me space ships, aliens, rayguns and tech. And now Inverse World is giving me even more ships and tech, along with Drive as alignment and infinite “races”. I’m wondering now if i should just write up some adaptation notes rather than a whole game.
/Subbing because I’m thinking of doing a similar thing.
Fighter as soldier/trooper, Thief as, well, thief/con artist/street urchin, Bard as classy political type, Ranger as scout/bounty hunter, something between earthling and paladin as elite trooper/space marine…
Mostly I am imagining a straight mix of laser guns, space wizards, lizard people, barbarians and chrome everything. There is a gap that needs to be filled in the world of RPGs!
There aren’t enough plusses, Adam Koebel . But do you think it needs to be its own game, or can it be done by Frankengame?
