I don’t know for you guys, but running Dungeon World made me realize I may have played RPGs wrong my whole life..Dungeon World is the first game in which as a GM I don’t feel like an evil psychiatrist trying various adventure experiment on my players…I don’t feel like I force situations on them and then watch and see how they find a way out. For the first time in my gaming life I play an RPG with the feeling of being part of the story my players ARE creating. From now on I’ll try to play every game like this..

I would +10 this if I could
Totally Patrick Joannisse
The trouble is, that now that I’ve played “world” games, I don’t really want to play anything else.
Supposed rules lite games like Savage Worlds are no longer “lite” enough for me.
When I got hold if the Fate Core book a little while ago, I just couldn’t play it as written. I hacked aspects into Joe Mcdaldno ‘s Simple world and made the rolling all player facing.
I must say that “disclaiming decision making” with players who aren’t used to this is a shock to them. 🙂
But being an evil psychiatrist experimenting on your players is fun… at least, it is if you’re playing Paranoia.
This impression is a staple of story(driven)games in general. You should try “In a Wicked Age”, it’s a blast !
Patrick Joannisse -> as Colter Hanna said, I’d +10 this if I could. And like Stuart McDermid, I lost taste for anything else.
The player driven agenda for *world games are so persuasive. Who wants to write a plot anyway, when the players can surprise you with incredible plot arcs that you never saw coming?
I am glad you found this idea! I guess that’s always been how I’ve seen gaming.
Hey Pat! Welcome to a brave new world!
