Hello. I have a question. Communion move. Dose it imply some ritual exept the most simple ones? (simple ones– gestures, bowes to eastwest, etc). Under ritual I mean some ritual clothes must be put on, incense, altar, chorus singing and so in.
Hello.
Hello.
you should ask your cleric. How does he commune with his deity?
That is actually a question about what’s intended. We’re translating DW into Russian and got stuck with the “communion”. My point is that the intention was to establish exact details in game any way you like – just hour of meditation and elaborate animal sacrifice are both legit. But there’s a strong hint toward rituals and holy communion and such in the name of a move.
We’re currently choosing between “Prayer” and “Sacrament” equivalents. Adam Koebel, Sage LaTorra and everyone, what do you say?
I think prayer is a good choice, but the move intends to be fleshed out – questions should be asked of the player as to what special things are done to earn the blessings of clerical magic.
Ask the player
So there’s no hint?
What was intended was that the cleric beseeches his or her god in the fashion of their religion for magical infusion of power. The details are intentionally vague. Making it any more concrete will force the cleric to be a certain way that was not intended.
Vasiliy Shapovalov Священнодействие? Keeps it vague, but may sound a bit over complicated.
