Is it outside the realm of possibility that a magic item could grant a temporary bonus to a stat? Say, a Plus One to Strength, as in our old friends the Gauntlets of Ogre Power? Or is it more fitting for said gauntlets to provide a cool move or other ability that isn’t just a stat bump?

Thats really not the style of magic items that DW goes with. Plain stats are just boring. DW items usually add some kind of narrative potential.
Stat bumps are more interesting than generic +1s, and custom moves are more interesting than stat bumps. Also, remember that a +1 in the AW engine is really potent; don’t give those out too often. A reasonable damage bonus is usually okay, though.
Well, talking within the DW framework I was thinking more along the lines of a +1 to Strength or Dexterity for example, rather than to Str or Dex. But I was talking in terms of, say “while you wear this thing you have a +1 Strength”, and the sort of bookkeeping that comes with it.
Gauntlets of Ogre Power:
These roughly made gloves of simple, tanned leather hum with a not in any way subtle power.
When worn the bearer needs be careful not to accidentally shatter his possessions (or his friends) in his grasp.
When you wear the Gauntlets of Ogre Power All weapons you wield gain: Messy/Forceful/Peircing/+1 damage (pick two)
Thats off the top of my head. Maybe someone else can take a swing at it.
Hey, looks pretty good for just off the top of your head.
I’m in the process of converting a magic item from D&D 3.x.
Give it a feat of strenght move or something like that, way more interesting, fitting and fiction-y
Craig Hatler: What’s the item in question?
Tim Jensen , I just posted Google Drive links to it, both in my own stream and in the Community. It was an original one I created. My first crack at the mechanics.
