The appendage reappears, unharmed once the spell ends.
Is it written somewhere in the rulebook ? I can’t find it.
On page 29 of the Dungeon World book it says:
“Some spells are ongoing—once they’re cast they continue to have effect until something ends it.”
Since “Sever” is an ongoing spell the effect ends once the spell ends. And given the text of the spell, it follows that the appendage is no longer severed from the body, there is no damage, and the agony ends.
It’s a bit odd, but yes, you must be right. I used to do that trick with my illusionist…
Scott McGougan is correct. It’s magic!
We’ve got something in french for that: TGCM (Ta Gueule C’est Magique), which means Shut the f.. up it’s magic ! 😉
