I’m going to need groups to playtest World of Metal and Bone, my version of Tracy Barnett’s Iron Edda using the Apocalypse World/Dungeon World rules engine. While it is powered by the Apocalypse, knowledge of other *World games is not required.

I’m looking for folks who can play at least a couple of times in the next month. Comment below if you’re interested. Feel free to tell me how many players you may have, and if you have experience with *World games, epic and/or Norse-inspired fantasy, or whatever else you think I might find interesting.

World of Metal and Bone is officially unlocked.

World of Metal and Bone is officially unlocked. I will be writing a complete game of epic Norse fantasy based on the Apocalypse World/Dungeon World rules.

At $20,000, Cam Banks will do his take on the same using the classic Pendragon system. I would love to see this game unlocked, and it can easily happen in the next three days.

And remember: if you’ve already backed the Kickstarter, you can increase your pledge and get World of Metal and Bone in print as well!

Less than $1,400 to unlock World of Metal and Bone, my AW/DW-based game of epic Norse fantasy, part of the Iron Edda Kickstarter.

I would love to write this game. I would love to be able to run this game for people at conventions. But that can’t happen if it doesn’t fund.

You can help. If you haven’t backed, go check out Iron Edda. You can find a preview of the Fate Core version in the updates. The central elements presented there will be part of all of the stretch goal games, including World of Metal and Bone. If that excites you, consider backing.

If you do back, or if you already have, spread the word. I think this project would appeal to a lot of people if they saw it. Tweet, share, post on forums. Talk about what you saw that you like.

I have released new content on my Patreon: the Model, a compendium class for Dungeon World. Explore the dark and fantastic, and look fierce doing it!

This is an experiment in doing even shorter-form content on my Patreon. If it goes over well, I’ll try to do more in the future.

Iron Edda: War of Metal and Bone is at 80% on Kickstarter. If you think that Viking warriors soulbonded to the skeletons of giants and using those bones to do battle with dwarven war machines sounds awesome, well, you have impeccable taste. You should probably check out Iron Edda, too.

Epic Norse fantasy using the Fate Core system, an inclusive view of fantasy where anyone can take up an axe and join the battle. An ambitious slate of stretch goals that bring these elements to dozens of other systems as the campaign goes on.

In today’s Dungeon World game, my barbarian became King of kobolds and found a frost sword. Not bad for a day’s work.

Something I noticed today: the dragon doesn’t have the intelligent tag. Is this intentional or a mistake?

Played in my first session of Dungeon World today. I am playing Gorm the Gluttonous, warrior from the sandy South who woke up on a ship bound for the north thanks to a vengeful woman and a head-full of wine. Now he finds himself among strange barbarians and their mysterious, prophesied Mountain That Once Moved.

(In truth, Gorm is a Barbarian, but I find it funny to play a Barbarian who thinks he’s the only civilized person around. He has already introduced the party to coffee.)

Gorm is fairly certain that the deepest dungeon beneath the Mountain where the party finds itself is actually the inside of an enormous sleeping dragon that has been trapped by the Mountain for 1000 years. And everyone says the Mountain is going to move again…
