I’m getting ready to run a 6-player one-shot this weekend. Half of my players have played Dungeon World with me before, but the other half are pretty much brand new to tabletops.

I’m pretty confident about getting everyone on the same page about how to play, but does anyone have any advice on how best to make sure everyone gets a chance to shine in the spotlight and/or doesn’t feel left out?

Asking pointed questions is obviously the way to go, but I was wondering if anyone else had any tips for running a large group one-shot. Thanks!

Jason Lutes I was hoping to ask you about showing non-backers and sharing portions of the rules with them?

Jason Lutes I was hoping to ask you about showing non-backers and sharing portions of the rules with them? I have a player in a DW game and I’d like to use your hireling rules for a tiger she got. Is it ok for me to share with her that portion of the rules?

On another note, I have a friend or two that didn’t get in on kickstarter and would like to support your work. Any ETA for when it will be available in some fashion to non-backers?

Thanks.

Played tonight in a cyberpunky DW. I played a Science Exploration Bot/Engine of Destruction and the other player played a Human Thief/Industrial Spy. Went crazy well for using a fantasy system for this kinda thing. Joshua Ramsey did an awesome job running it and keeping it going.

Made up another class the other night that I thought would be interesting, the inspiration is the Darkness from comics and video games. What I really like is how variable class is, you can go with various stats and really change the class around. Playing a warrior from the shadow with Strength or alternatively playing an intelligence based shadowmage.

Please let me know what you think.

Played a game a while back where I was a Circus strongman/crime enforcer and was looking through Class Warfare and wanted to try making a class. So gave it a go! Let me know what you think.

So, questions for the Tavern.

Do people allow wizards to learn spells outside of those gained from level advancement? Why or why not?

Currently we’re looking at allowing it through general RP or just a ritual where he throws out the requirements (taking the GM munchies or some such)?

Any thoughts on the matter. Thanks!
