Tomorrow, for lunch and Dungeon World, the players will make up character while eating, and then those characters head to Carcosa, hoping to find the Oblivion Crypts in order to loot the tombs of the Magi of the Void. Horror and fun built on a few of Mark Tygart’s dungeon starters. Huzzah!

Yesterday, Michael, an old friend from junior high and high school, came by with his oldest son to visit and game with me and my son. Mike and I probably haven’t gamed together since the early 80s. We had a rollicking good time with me GMing a dwarf cleric, a human thief, and a human fighter through an improv-game session using Michael Prescott’s A Litany of Scratches. Huzzah.

In today’s Dungeon World session, the heroes chased spider queen cultists through the night-darkened streets of the city to rescue Oomfoofoo, Queen of Beggars. During the pitched final battle against a giant spider and two cult assassins, Romeo, my bard, lost the use of his shield after the giant spider sprayed Romeo with webbing, effectively sticking Romeo’s shield arm to his own chest. Undaunted, Romeo rammed into a cult assassin, sticking the assassin to the webbing as well. Via a series of phenomenal hack-and-slash rolls, the 9-Strength bard then proceeded to headbutt the cult assassin to death. Romeo’s fury at Oomfoofoo’s rough treatment by the assassins knew no bounds. Huzzah.

In a couple of weeks, Romeo, my bard, will almost certainly level up.

In a couple of weeks, Romeo, my bard, will almost certainly level up. Romeo has become the paladin’s squire (sort of). We’re looking for a good squire move for a bard. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!
