I’m trying to come up with a recipe for a Cloak of Disguise similar to that of Michael in Howl’s Moving Castle for my Witch character to be able to craft/enchant using her Thaumaturgy. For the Playbook I’m using when creating items/magical effects it requires the info:

What You’ll Need

How Long It’ll Take

How Long It Will Last

Restrictions And Limitations

Obviously she’ll need a cloak but I’m wondering if/leaning toward it needing to be a special material. She has a connection to The Shroud (think The Veil from Dragon Age kind of) as a Spirit there has helped her establish her link to The Source so that she can use magic at a high level, but she owes them a debt. They’ve taken her eye and sent a “Shade” into the game’s plain to function as her familiar, Malphas, and to keep tabs on her. I’m thinking she’ll need locks of hair from people no longer “using” their faces [aka corpses] or people that expressly give her permission as materials/components for the Enchantment?

Do you guys have any ideas? Suggestions?

Hey guys, sorry about the technical issues if any of you came by our first attempt at streaming xD Our latest stream was much better as far as that goes and overall, game wise, felt like it went well on the GMing side. My players said they had a lot of fun so that’s really what matters. Here’s a link If you want to watch it. I’ll be working on learning to edit so that I can put the edited/more polished versions on our Youtube.

Here’s my first attempt at making a map for my upcoming stream’s campaign. It’s also my first time using Photoshop for any real length of time in years since I use Clip Studio Paint generally. You can find the tutorial here http://characterdesigninspiration.tumblr.com/post/153044802076/resource-world-map-templates-hey-everyone-heres#notes This is all editable so it’s great for DW since you can fill in more as you play by just moving icons and adding names or new land masses. The instructions are very clear and succinct so I’d encourage trying it out!

I named the places after spices/herbs.

Is there some template online for if I’ve made up a monster and want it to look like the monster profiles from the book? In my test game I’ve been running the last two Fridays I made a monster on the fly that I think others might enjoy playing with. I’ve gotta actually write down it’s full profile but that shouldn’t take long so I wanted to know if there was a page to put it on after I do the write up?

If not:

– Does anyone know what the Dungeon World font is?

Hey, so quick question.

Hey, so quick question.

Hey, so quick question.

I’m doing a test game before starting a Dungeon World stream on Twitch. In this test game I’ve got a Cleric and I was wondering, as I don’t know that I understood the book clearly, if at First Level the Cleric has access to all of the First Level spells? At all times? Or is it that they’ve got access to spells equal to their level plus one and then after communing can pick new ones from the list? Both my Cleric and I were wondering.

Also if you guys feel like linking me to Dungeon World DMing advice in general that’d be cool.

I’ll post a link here in the beginning of December in case any of you want to watch our stream.

I’ve had the Dungeon World rulebook for quit awhile at this point but have only used it as a player, even though I’ve read the whole thing at least once. I’m going to run my first DW game soon as a oneshot to introduce some in the group to the game for the first time and others to the hobby as a whole for the first time. I think a lot of things about Dungeon World make it a bit more friendly as an introductory game. However, one of the things I’ve never liked about the book is the “By Nature Sustained” trait of the Druid, which is the class I played the game with and second only in my fav list to the Bard.

Can I mine some suggestions for alternatives/alterations/stipulations for this trait from you all? I’m still going to explain it as it is in-text to the player and ask them if that makes sense for how they want to play their character/the world but I’d like the input none the less. Especially for the next time I play as a player.

In the campaign I played in I explained this distaste to my GM and I can’t remember if we decided eating restored a point of HP, the trait only kicked in if I ran out of food, or that it only took effect when we went on a Perilous Journey. It was something along those lines that made me more comfortable and still meshed with the game overall. Anything not needing to eat ever not only creeps me out but also makes me think of wasting diseases and eating disorders. The last of which makes me really uncomfortable.
