Maybe a silly question, but does anyone know Jordan Prokosch, the guy who made the The Horde playbook? I got the playbook from DriveThruRPG, and it’s pretty cool but the first page is a wall of bees which kinda gives me the jibblies. I’d edit that page out but he password-protected the ability to edit it.

I’m hoping to contact him and ask him for the password, or a bee-less version.

I ran The Indigo Galleon (http://www.dungeon-world.com/the-indigo-galleon/) with some friends (actually the 2nd group I’ve run it with), and they decided to patch up the ship and, after finishing the actual adventure, sail the ship* to the nearest port city for proper repairs. Which is super expensive, but given that the treasure galleon actually has quite a bit of treasure on it, they could afford.

So now they’re going to be pirates.

*The party’s Necromancer (Grim World playbook) ate the brains of all of the zombified crewmen and, gaining a fact from each [as per the Piece of Mind move], learned quite a bit about how to sail).

I have some trouble role-playing using ranged attacks. With melee combat, RPing it out is pretty simple (“I dodge to the side and drive my knife into his foot”, for example).

But with a bow, or a gun, or something else (I recently played the Psion class, who has a psychic blast), I don’t really know what to say to make it more interesting, since all you’re really doing is standing there and shooting.

Any advice/examples to make it more interesting?

For anyone familiar with the RPG “Sorcerer”, how well/poorly do you think a Sorcerer from that game (with his demons and stuff) could be translated into a class (or compendium class?) for DW?

I like the ideas from that game, but it seems to focus on individual players’ stories, not them playing as a group, so I thought it’d be interesting to try and bring it in as a character class.

If I were to DM a text-only game tomorrow (Jul 1) around 7pm EST via hangout or Roll20, would anyone be interested?

I’m pretty new, but my RL players have had fun so far and it could be interesting.

If so, if anyone has any interesting ideas in mind I’d love to hear em, something to mull over while I’m at work. Otherwise I’ll come up with something when I get home.

I thought the Compendium Classes would be there, but when I went to buy it I realized it was a separate purchase.

Totally new to DMing; how exactly do I attack my players with pointed or bladed weapons? Getting hit with a pickax or a sword is extremely dangerous, but given the (smallish) amount of HP they take off, I’m not sure how to describe someone hitting the PC with a pickax and doing 3 damage, for example, especially when that PC has 16 health or more. I can’t really envision a situation where getting slashed or stabbed could be so barely harmful.

Looking at the Warlock class, I can’t seem to find anything that explains the bases from the description of Summoned Minion: “Your contract grants you dominion over a summoned creature. It is a Hireling that

follows your orders to the best of its abilities, describe it.

Choose a base:

* Protector +1, Warrior +2, Loyalty +2

* Adept +2, Priest +1, Loyalty +2

* Burglar +1, Tracker +2, Loyalty +2

* Minstrel +2, Warrior +1, Loyalty +2

The Minion has Cost: Advance the patron’s agenda. If it dies or is otherwise unavailable,

it summons itself to your side on the next sunset, alive and unharmed.”

What are these “base” things?
