Goblin Orkaster

The 24 hour Extra Life board game marathon that I co-host to benefit Indiana’s only Children’s Miracle Network Hospital starts tomorrow. I can’t believe it is already here. My team is in its final push to raise money for Riley Hospital. If you have a couple of bucks to spare, I would deeply appreciate your support. Thank you.

I have been sick with a persistent cough for two weeks. Coughing all day long takes its toll out of me. My throat hurts, my ribs are sore, and after each full day of it, I am so damn tired. That makes getting my #Inktober drawings done a challenge. However, yesterday I didn’t cough as much and I was finally able to ink the drawing of a goblin orkaster that I have been working on since the werewolf.

My first #Inktober drawing ever was of a goblin carrying a torch. This is a different take. I think I like it better.

If you like my #Inktober2017 #DungeonWorld drawings or you just want to do a good deed for a great cause, please consider making a donation to my #ExtraLife campaign at http://extra-life.org/participant/jimjones.

This will be my sixth year playing table top games for 24 hours in order to raise money for Riley Hospital for Children. Riley saved my daughter’s life with a cranial reconstruction operation when she was just over a year old.

If you’d like to know why I have participated in Extra Life for the last six years, I wrote up something here. It would be a huge help if you shared that public post on your social media platforms. Thanks:

Also, as a thank you to my sponsors this year, I am running Jim’s Extra Life Inktober Drawing Drawing this year. All individual donations to my fundraiser will be counted as entries to drawings that will be held for any unclaimed #Inktober2017 drawings that are complete before each $100 milestone that I meet towards (and hopefully beyond) my $1000 goal this year. If you don’t win at one milestone, your donation (s) will carry over to the next.

Details for Jim’s Extra Life Inktober Drawing Drawing can be found on my http://extra-life.org/participant/jimjones

You can also donate there. All donations are tax deductible and the full amount will go to Riley Hospital for Children.

Riley is close to my family’s heart and your support means a great deal to me. Thank you.

Werewolf

(Finished)

I finished up my #Inktober drawing of a werewolf while my family played trivia at our favorite local pizza joint. Just twenty five more to go.

Like I said previously, I’ve thought werewolves were cool since getting to see some friends’ VHS copy of An American Werewolf in London at a much too early age. I really got a kick out of drawing this one today. I hope you like it too.

Wererwolf

Im on the tail end of being sick and I’m getting back in the saddle with my sixth #Inktober drawing of a #DungeonWorld monster, or gear, or magical item. Just twenty five to go.

I went with something more simple again as I am still not at one hundred percent and even then it is still a work in progress. Not bad for forty five minutes at lunch. I should be able to finish it up this evening.

Ever since two of my best friends (brothers Russell and Jamie Overton – if you are out there, I miss you guys) showed me their dad’s copy of American Werewolf in London (at much too early of an age), I have loved werewolves. To this day, I will watch almost any movie that has them in it. Thanks, guys. Russell and Jamie also played a crucial role in getting me to explore role playing games in the first place.

I’ve been sick, so this is my fifth #Inktober drawing of a #DungeonWorld monster, or gear, or magical item. Just twenty six to go.

This is a quick take on the gelatinous cube. I have always loved this monster. It’s like a slime mold that only comes into being as, a byproduct cold wet dark places that have magic energies emminating from the magical artifacts and the spells being cast within. I included one in the encounter table that I made to run for my son’s birthday with Ray Otus ‘ Kazarak issue of #Plundergrounds. Having never heard of anything like it, it blew their minds.

Awesome!

Frogman

Here’s the finished piece for my fourth day of #Inktober. Twenty seven more to go in #Inktober2017. I will be making drawings of #DungeonWorld monsters, magical items, and gear. I had a lot of fun and saw some improvement while doing it last year.

I wanted to do !y take on the frogman. I decided to base it on a poison dart frog and I think it turned out alright. I am challenging myself with poses and lighting that will help me improve if I can pull the off. I am also messing around with some markers. Let me know what you think.

This is also the month leading up to the sixth annual St Peter’s 24 Hour Extra Life Board Game Marathon benefitting Riley Hospital for Children, which is located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Riley saved my youngest daughter’s life through a cranial reconstruction surgery when she was just over a year old. Riley does amazing work for the children of Indiana as well as all those that are referred to its specialists and come from all over the world. It has one of the best pediatric diabetes centers in the United States and its Children’s Cancer Center is a national leader in the clinical cancer care and conducting research in the treatment and cure of childhood cancer and blood born illnesses. Our board game marathon is like a charity run, walk-a-thon, or dance-a-thon. Players find sponsors and then play board games for twenty four hours. All the money raised through our sponsored players and our game marathon weekend go directly to Riley Hospital. Over the past five years, our generous donors have helped us raise over $32,700 for Riley.

If you like my Inktober drawings, please consider sponsoring me as a player and donating through my #ExtraLife page at http://extra-life.org/participant/jimjones. This year, I will be raffling off my drawings when I reach each $100 milestone. Each donor that helped reach that point will be entered to win. Watch my Extra Life page for details.

Riley is close to my family’s heart and your support means a great deal to me. Thank you.
