The idea: an hexcrawl setting with a good amount of blank space, but with some Points of Interest that can be used easily by the GM.

This is one of the entries. Feedback is highly appreciated.

If anyone wants a hardcopy (the book will have 48pp in B5 format) just send me a message and we’ll see how to do that.

But if you just want to chip in and help with any amount, you can use this link: https://www.catarse.me/pt/projects/70044/contributions/new?reward_id=133863 — it starts with R$ 10, or roughly US$ 3, but even this tiny amount will be of a huge help.

About FotF 2e, Magic-User Invocations

Dragonlance 5th Age, Saga System, used a kind of point buy feature to design spells on the fly. It strikes me as similar to what’s proposed on the 2e rules, so I’d like to share this (maybe it shines some light on Jason Lutes design and playtests, but I believe he must be familiar with this anyway).

Spells there have 5 components: invocation time (taking more time uses less points), range, duration, area of effect (including a kind of subtable for groups, physical area, and time for divination purposes), and effect.

The only thing different here is the invocation time, I believe.

A few friends all around the country want to play DW with me online, but I’m tech-limited: the last time I’ve DMed anything online was using OpenRPG, with character sheets in tree-sctructure files and everything typed. Yes, there goes 10 years or so.

You see, I have my f2f gaming group, so I’ve never needed to find online alternatives…

So, what I need:

-some way to send and receive videos from them (heard Skype is good for group calls, but never tried)

What I’d like, but can live without:

-some way to roll dice online instead asking them to move the camera when rolling

What it would be great, but not really needed:

-some way to host their playbooks online (maybe just take a pic of them?)

Ideas? Tips?

ASK THE FATES

ASK THE FATES

ASK THE FATES

When the GM decides to let the Fates answer a question in his instead, define the odds – Likely/Unlikely (+1/-1), Very Likely/ Very Unlikely (+2/2) – and roll+odds.

12+: Yes, and…

10+: Yes.

7-9: Yes, but..

3-6: No, but…

2-: No, and…

This will help the action flow smoothly (there’s no simple”no” answer) and spark the creative juices. For example:

The thief reaches the treasure room and asks if there are guards there. The GM decides to trust the fates but believes there’s no change to the odds. If he rolls. . .

12+: Yes, there are 2 knights and more: the Vizir is overseeing them.

10+: Yes, you see two knights.

7-9: Yes, but there’s only one guard there.

3-6: No, but you overhear footsteps coming your way.

2-: Not a single one, and it seems the big chest on the corner is opened.

So the party just found a lost village? You need some city map on the spot in order to determine where the magical tower is?
