Watching the Elves in the latest Hobbit movie wade through goblins and orcs made me think how that would translate to DW.  I don’t think they would roll Hack & Slash (or any other move), maybe something like:

“When fighting goblins and orcs, as long as you are not surprised and they do not have a name, you deal your damage to them and avoid their attack.”

I like both the Warlock and the Witch playbooks quite a bit.

I like both the Warlock and the Witch playbooks quite a bit. Reading over them reminded me of the 4e warlock—which I has a lot of flavor and the potential to make a  playbook roughly based on it.

So I’ve been brainstorming moves for this warlock but haven’t made much progress. What I do have is an idea of what it would contain to make me happy: the pact, the curse, prime shot, and maybe something like shadow walk? The Witch’s Black Magic is probably the direction I’d take with the eldritch blast, but I’m open to ideas.

I’m not sure spells would fit, likely advanced moves that replicated some of the iconic at will powers—such as Eyebite would make sense? I could also see an argument for giving them access to thief moves as advanced moves.

Am I reinventing the wheel? Has something like this been done? Any help would be appreciated.

Has anyone used the witch playbook by Jacob Randolf in play? I’m curious how it interacts with the base classes.
