Dang it.

Dang it.

Dang it.  Backed myself into a corner in my game tonight.  I advanced a front by informing the players that a nearby village was being attacked by some giant ants that they stirred up.  Of course, the players immediately marched to the aid of the village.  We’ll begin our next session with their arrival at the village.  I have no idea how to conduct the battle against literally hundreds of dog-sized ants.  Do I break it up somehow into more manageable chunks?  Advice?

Adam Koebel, I just saw the announcement that you’ll be writing a setting for Storium, Kingdom of Coins.

Hmmm, can I introduce Thundarr’s Sunsword into my DW campaign without my savy players realizing it?

Thundarr’s Sunsword: Close, +1d6 damage, ignores armor, messy.

Thundarr’s sword appears as a simple hilt without a blade.  When activated, a blade of flame-like energy springs forth from the hilt.

While active, the Sunsword sheds light as a torch.

Seems kinda boring.  Can anyone pepper this thing up?  (David Guyll)

David Guyll, Can you explain to me how you use the messy tag in combat and how you deal with such things as chopping off a player’s arm?  If you do chop off a limb, do you let the players reattach it using healing magic?  How restrictive are you on the use of healing magic?  Answer if you have time and thanks.

Need advice once again.

Need advice once again.

Need advice once again.  I’ve done the work of creating my fronts and the players and I have come up with a very exciting palette to work with, but I’m really not sure how I can drop a dungeon into it.  I’d love some tips on how to incorporate a classic dungeon crawl type adventure into my fronts.  Thanks guys.  This community continues to be the most active and helpful on all of Google+, or so I’ve found.

I’ve got a problem with NPCs.

I’ve got a problem with NPCs.

I’ve got a problem with NPCs.  My players are far too protective of them, especially my Paladin.  They want the bonuses that the NPCs supply, but they freak out when I put them in danger.  They do NOT want the NPCs to bear the brunt of an attack.  Is the solution just to not allow them the NPC bonuses if they are not willing to put them in danger?  Is there a middle ground?

Does anyone have any examples of a combat run with a two-weapon fighter?

Does anyone have any examples of a combat run with a two-weapon fighter?  Would fighting with two weapons change the fiction all that much or would the second weapon, perhaps, just add a damage bonus to an attack?

Had a great session tonight, our third.

Had a great session tonight, our third.  We now have a new motto in our group, “It’s time to goose the bear.”  Yeah, you don’t want to know the details.  After three sessions I have one player at level 4 and two at level 3.  It seems like they are advancing so quickly.  Is that pretty standard?
