I will be on a panel during Gauntlet Con, talking about what a DW 2e would like. Jason Cordova, Jeremy Strandberg, Ray Otus & Cameron Burns will be there, too.

I have compiled a list of questions, if you guys want to fill it out. That way, I can try and represent what the general DW community cares about!

  1. Done – how about we make another thread and a poll? Does DW need a 2E, yes, no or Alternate Rules Toolkit to swap out. We could get broader discussion from the community and see different folks answers as well.

  2. I thought people were already trying to make a Dungeon World 2nd edition. I could be wrong, I’m not particularly interested so I haven’t looked to hard into it. Most home rule discussions I see are pretty polarizing so I’m sure that if 10 ‘2nd editions’ were made by the community none of them would be universally accepted. I’ll just home rule anything I think needs to change in DW, which is frankly not much IMO. Worlds of Adventure

    Poll Results (99 voters):

    70% want a DW 2.0

People want Fronts removed or the Front-section re-written

Things that are core to DW: XP for failing, 6 core stats, class based playbooks, HP, Last Breath, backwards compatibility for community content, Vancian magic (maybe, could coexist with Mage)

Things that could possibly change: Alignment, Bonds (put in world creation), Stats v Modifers, Fronts (to Threats, potentially), advantage>+1 forward, 3 debilities instead of 6, consolidated supplies, slot system instead of weight, no counting coins (maybe), backgrounds>race, world building instructions and mechanics, better art, carouse gone, single ruleset for monsters, places hirelings, leverage removed from parley
