What are some seemingly minor, or off-handedly introduced tidbits about your campaign world that had far-reaching consequences or ended up somehow shaping the campaign?

  1. Started out as a nothing npc halfling that the paladin rescued from a cage (bugbears dinner). A few sessions later evolved into a weak follower and named Florian. A few sessions later was a solid follower of Saint Fomo Ki, the paladins deity.

A few sessions later the paladin died and was pasing through the black gate. Florian’s faith had evolved to be very strong and he channelled Fomo Ki who held the Black Gate open for the rest of the party to pass through (cool zine by Ray Otis!)

The party survived and Florian was elevated to a Saint that the paladin now followed! Very cool progression that was totally unpredictable considering his throw away start as a weak npc.

    Play to find out!

  2. A player playing as a Fae got the real name of some jarls son and later when another player lost their right arm in combat he used the name to give the player the jarls sons arm. This started a conflict between to territories that resulted in the players seeking the help of a god to give the man his arm back… and now that that is done the part is going to Hel to try to the the PC’s arm back.
