Jeremy Strandberg, I’m new to DW and have gamed or mastered in many several years. I ran my first DW game yesterday and it went well. Am I to understand that your “Threats” article (please link below) replaces fronts as described in the DW book? As I read it, I find it far more organized and clear than what’s in the book.

Also, do you have any other resources (by you or someone else) you can share for a burgeoning GM?

Thanks!

  1. Alejandro Duarte yeah, that’s the idea. But be advised: it’s for a specific hack of DW (Stonetop) that is based on a small hometown community. PCs are the local heroes of that community, and not really expected to wander about the way normal DW characters often do.

I’m not sure how much I’d do differently for a more typical DW game, but that background definitely informs (for example) the idea of a “homefront” vs. “nearby” vs. “distant” tracker. It probably flavors some of the decisions I’ve made, too, and it definitely flavors the examples.
