Homebrew World is my poorly named version of DW optimized for one-shots and short-run plays. One of the biggest changes is the Gear and Supplies; it’s even more consolidated than “adventuring gear” and “ammo” and whatnot.

Here’s the deets (and some examples) if you’re interested.

Questions and feedback appreciated!

Gear Slots and Supplies in Homebrew World

Each class playbook gets 9 “slots” for gear, plus a box for small items. It looks like this: Most items take up a slot, but: Small items can go in your Small Items section (and you can carry as many as you can write in there).

  1. Reminds me of the BitD equipment handling. It could be interesting to say something like “when you hit a town, you may change the ticks so you have 6 boxes ticked” to cover requiping.

  2. Ivan MV, yup!

“If that was the last use of that particular set of Supplies, that slot is now free. You can put the item you produced there.”

(Though that’d be true for any reason you used up the last of your Supplies, not just because you produced an item.)

Though: if your armor was wrecked, I wouldn’t let you get that slot back until you had time to doff the armor. And in the meantime, I might say that you’re clumsy because walking around in torn-up half-hanging-off-you armor would suuuuck.

  3. The system is awsome. In particular, the supplies system make it so that it’s pretty easy to say:

Since you’re resupplying in Jeminah, and ghost-crafting is quite common there, items like soulstuff, specter-chains and the like count as common and mundane for the purpose of supplies.
