I was already working on a campaign starter when Jeremy Strandberg came along an put my work to shame. I reworked it a bit, but since I don’t really have a clear idea what our upcoming campaign will be about it’s a lot less focused on one spesific theme, except that it will be scandinavian-themed.

Right now it’s a bit too “vikingy” for what I had in mind, but hopefully it can inspire some adventures in the Nordemark.

Thanks to Brian Holland and Dirk Detweiler Leichty for starting all these processes in my thinking.

  1. Sehr gut! You might take a look at Vikings on Amazon or Norsemen on Netflix for inspiration(Although I note you want less Viking, maybe a bit more Anglo-Saxon?)

  2. Thanks Mark Tygart! My vision for our upcoming campaign is something like 17th century Norwegian coastal culture and folklore meets norse mythology, berserkers and Hellboy (the imprisoned dragongod Margul is like Oghdru Jahad).

But I’m not sure if that translates well, and so I ended up leaning more into the viking angle for the english version. (There’s no english word for “væreier” for example, which means “owner of an entire fishing village” and has sort of the same connotations as slumbaron. 🙂 )
