Thinking about a new campaign using Freebooters on the Frontier, but I want a slightly more WFRP feel, so I was considering making dwarven wizards into dwarven rune-casters. They are essentially the same, but they would have rune spells instead of the normal spells.

I started working on a d66 table (for the Warhammer Quest feel) for rune magic:

  1. The other major change I’m thinking about is how to do a fighter/mage style elf. Oddly, less inspired by old school D&D and more inspired by the Warhammer Quest Elf Ranger. I was thinking to maybe start with the base Fighter, and replace Bend Bars, Lift Gates with Cast Spell and simply giving the Elf Ranger one spell at creation and perhaps giving them access to Arcane Research as an advanced move. Given the versatility of spells maybe No Guts, No Glory should be replaced too?
