I present “The Journeys of the ‘Shadow of the Jewel'” — a map recalling the adventures of a crew of twelve during a recent game of “Freebooters on the High Seas.” More to come, including the inevitable discovery of the lost library containing the “Tome of Ravenous Darkness.”

  1. So much yes.

I’m curious… how did you modify the See the World moves to account for maritime travel?

I’m guessing that Scout easily converts to “Lookout,” and Navigate works as-is. But how’d you handle marking distances, deciding when to Make Camp and Manage Provisions?

Heck, how’d you manage provisions for an entire ship?

  2. Jeremy Strandberg We used over-water distance from other systems. We’re specifically exploring, and so, hugging the coast. “Make Camp” becomes “Drop Anchor”. “Scout” becomes “Crow’s Nest” etc. Although the expedition began with a wealthy benefactor stocking the Shadow, provisions became a problem after the ship’s rations were destroyed. We had to pay per-person to re-supply the entire lot. Luckily, we had found a stash of treasure on Liest island…. I’ll post the entire chronicle if I can take time to type it up. 🙂
