Brennen Reece (I think it was you) did some lovely Minimalist Dungeon World Playbooks based off of the core classes plus the Barbarian.

Johnstone Metzger gave permission to do his first four alternate classes (The Priest, the Mage, the Templar, the Artificier) in that format when I asked if they could also be done up in that style.

Is there any progress on that?  Can I speed the process along by sending some money to someone? 🙂  It’s nearly convention season again and I LOVE having those playbooks handy for throwing into the middle of a table and running on the go.

  1. Hey Ken Burnside! As you probably know, I’ve been busy with The Clay That Woke and Night Witches, as well as a lot of other design work for unreleased games and supplements. I’m wrapping up most of my projects this weekend, so I’ll be able to devote more time to personal projects like this.

  2. I’d say it’s pretty likely. I don’t have anything immediately in the pipeline after I wrap up my current projects. I was going to do some personal stuff and some artwork in the interim…before the next big project.

  3. Looking forward to them!  I REALLY like the clean look.

I print these out on medium weight cardstock, crease them down the middle and laminate them for use at conventions.

  4. Brennen Reece  I’m about a week away from that convention – any progress to report?

If you have to triage, the order I need these in:

    Mage

    Artificer

    Priest

    Templar

  5. I take it things didn’t progress as planned, Brennan?  I can still print these off tomorrow in case they got done but no announcement was made.

If not, my next con where I’d need them is Memorial Day Weekend.

  6. I’m waiting for DTRPG approval on the file. I’m going to go ahead and release them as soon as they’re approved. They’re certainly usable as is. I’ll do some detail stuff later on, but it’s important to get them out in the wild.

  7. I like to tinker with things, so once I get a hold of these I’ll probably be modifying them in GIMP. I think I tracked down the right fonts – Franklin Gothic Book Condensed and League Gothic, aye? I’d appreciate it if you could get me some sizing info.

Secondly, does the alternate classes PDF you’ve made include the Artificer, or just the classes that are actually alternates?

Thirdly, your minimalist sheets finally gave me a solution to a problem I’ve had for a long time with Dungeon World – multiclass moves aren’t on the sheet! But with your playbooks, I can create half-sheet inserts for multiclass characters! It’s also inspired me to make Compendium Class sheets, so everything for a character can just be held in the minimalist sheet in booklet form.

Finally, would there be any way to get a hold of the alternate sheets while they’re in DTRPG limbo? I’ll certainly be purchasing them either way, but I’m eager to start tinkering. 🙂

Thanks for your help, and for the great playbooks!
