Made up another class the other night that I thought would be interesting, the inspiration is the Darkness from comics and video games. What I really like is how variable class is, you can go with various stats and really change the class around. Playing a warrior from the shadow with Strength or alternatively playing an intelligence based shadowmage.

Please let me know what you think.

  1. Already looked at this one and it is pretty cool. Don’t have any critique at this point of stuff I think needs changed. I will soak up the discussion about it though.

  2. About “Walking Through Darkness”:

    – you could put “Far range” instead the 100 meters, keeping the DW “vague” measurements.

    – Also, you don’t specify if the Shadowsoul has to actually see the target patch of darkness, or if he doesn’t. So: easy teleport in room that you can’t see, or not?

  3. Foreshadowing: you should put “your choice” somewhere. As I understand it (reading the following Parting Shadows) it is the player choosing from the list. Also, could be interesting to put a “take +1 forward” on 10+ results?

MODIFIED POST: I see now that there’s another move to get the +1. Maybe you could reunite both in a single move.

  4. “Whispering shadows” oooh, wow, a move that is fueled by XPs! I’m not sure if I like this kind of mechanic. However, it’s a nice move, while I think the player could at least choose the target NPCs. Maybe the GM should just choose the reactions.
