Well, here is a list of the characters, that are basically the same as the ones presented in the Dungeon World role-playing game. But I’m giving them new names, trying to make them more flavorful, but also to differentiate them from the ones in DW since the…

  1. Ravenloft is still my favorite high fantasy setting.  You have my attention.

I’m thinking about how I’d do this now…. let’s see, the fiction deals nicely with the standard isle-lord-invulnerability thing.  You’d need a system wherein vileness is rewarded with power and punished with limitations.  That might be EASIER to do in DW than D&D.

“I know it’s horrible, but we NEED that baker talking about what she saw that night in the garden between the castle lord and the missing girl.  And if she’s too afraid of some boogyman doing something to her son if she talks, we have to make her more afraid that WE will do something horrible. (Acquire access to the Parlay roll)  I’ll…. I’ll try not to hurt him.”

When you do something morally vile, Roll + Mistbound.  On a 10+ lose all of your Mistbound and choose one :

    * You will soon gain a small power and pay a small price, as determined by the GM based on your nature or actions.

    * You will soon gain a great power, but pay a terrible price, as dictated by the GM based on your nature or actions.

On a 7-9 take two Mistbound.  On a miss, take one.
