So my wife and I wrote a playbook for the party when the group wanted to make their characters more professional. A party goal and background, as well as moves to take as the party levels.

We are looking for a couple people to take a look, make suggestions for changes and clarifications, and maybe test drive it with their own group.

let me know if you’d like to help out!

  1. I’ll take a look.  The idea of “party moves” and building the party as an institution has always intrigued me.

Probably won’t be able to playtest it, though.

  2. okay it should be shared with two of you. Pete google does not recognize your existence. im not sure how to share with you without your email address.

  3. Don’t have permission to add comments. On the Share screen, when you choose to share with specific individuals, there’s a drop-down for “Can view.”  Change that to “Can Comment” and it should work.  (I think.)

  4. Immediate, general thoughts:

    – It could use an analog to an individual PC’s look.  Like, some sort of uniform, badge, color, heraldic device, emblem, etc.  If the is gonna be a thing with moves and bennies, the PCs oughta be required to all wear the team shirt.

    – I like the moves related to the backgrounds, but the backgrounds aren’t backgrounds. They’re just moves. I think it’d be cooler if they were actual backgrounds (or maybe types of organizations).  Like “knightly order,” “mercenary company,” “fraternal order,” “military unit,” “criminal gang,” etc.  I think that’d do a lot to actually define the campaign.

    – I wonder what it’d look like if you actually gave the party stats, like Contacts, Favors, Reputation, Fortress, Legacy, stuff like that.  And many of your party moves would have you roll +Lore or +Contacts or something like that.  Maybe some of them would flexible (sorta like HP).

    – I’m not sure how I’d fill the _ in the bonds. Should there be a list of suggested names? Is this meant to be something the PCs start with? Or something they achieve during play?  If the former, I really think you need some inspiration lists for the bonds.  If the latter, you might want to make a startup requirement like there are with compendium classes.

  5. I am new to Dungeon World (literally found it a couple days ago!), but you may be able to steal some ideas from the Savage Worlds Super Powers compendium. There are rules there for superhero teams, allowing characters to spend their levels for group bonuses, teamwork feats, and a base.
