I’m thinking of picking up some of the awesome looking DW adventures by Johnstone Metzger.  Does anyone have any reviews or advice on how to use them in an existing game?  Which ones are the best?  They’re very reasonably priced, but my wife is not very reasonable when it comes to my RPG purchases, so I have to be very selective…and secretive.

  1. I’m really interested in things I can drop into my current game.  Magic items, monsters, settings, etc.  Do you have any specific recommendations, Johnstone Metzger?

  2. Knives in the Dark, The Third Verse, and Lair of the Unknown all have a town and a dungeon and could be dropped into any campaign. Lair of the Unknown is a couple dollars more but is tailored specifically for DW and also has a mutation subplot. If you like that sort of thing, it’s the perfect excuse to also download the Metamorphica, which is free. So that might be a perfect starting point.

Island of Fire Mountain (the new one) is sort of a contained setting (being an island), and Evil Wizards is sort of the same (being a valley), so you might not be into those. The fronts in Ghostwood Haunts are interconnected but if you really, really want drug addiction and devil worship that is even worse than drug addiction, go for that one.
