Does anyone know of a generic character sheet for Dungeon World? I’d appreciate the resource very much.

I’m not talking about a playbook template though. Just an empty character sheet designed to be filled in by hand. I plan on putting the moves on cards.

  1. Marques Jordan Yep. Click the “Character” tab at the bottom of the sheet. The whole spreadsheet is basically a DW campaign tracker, but the character sheet is pretty sweet.

  2. Thanks. It was a lot of copy/pasting and wiggling a thing here and there. I’m thankful for how good the original sheets look and the organized format of the sheets you posted. 🙂

All that said… creating a card for each move is going to be a pain in the butt. x_x Maybe I’ll just use index cards for the players to write on.

  3. Originally I was going to put the text of each move onto a card template I have for PowerPoint. Then I’d print them out, cut them up and put them into sleeves with a magic card in ’em for stability.

But with every class having 25ish moves, that would be an effton of cards that I really have no interest in typing out. Even worse, I’ve customized every class to the point where many of the cards would only be useful to me. =/

So what I’ll do instead is bring index cards to each game and have each player transcribe their move text onto it in neat handwriting and laminate them. That will probably be pretty annoying on the first go but it will eventually be very useful.

  4. The biggest reason I have issue with Index cards is because they’re supposed to be great for reference but I tend to tote around way too much information. I sit down at the table with a stack of printed papers and my players often ask “so… what the hell do you have in there?” hehe. I hear you on having too many of the cards.

I’ve been thinking about investing in a large rolodex. It would make storage at the table much tidier and with dividers it would make information extremely easy to access quickly. My biggest issue is getting the information onto the cards. I really don’t want to fill out that much information by hand if I can avoid it.

  5. An organizer for the cards would be awesome. Especially if you had dividers for each base class, compendium class, basic moves, special moves and then custom moves.

I had thought about using playing card sized reference cards and sticking them into those clear plastic sheets with pockets for each card… but I feel like certain moves would have too much text.

Yeah, writing out all of the moves is definitely the biggest problem. Everything else can be handled by spending a bit of money. As I said before, I think I’m going to let my players fill them out by hand as a move becomes necessary then laminate the results.
