So I may run Dungeon World for some of my friends and I’ve seen some custom playbooks flying around the net.

So I may run Dungeon World for some of my friends and I’ve seen some custom playbooks flying around the net. Should I allow any of these playbooks or should I just stuck with what’s in the book for now?

  1. i played DW for first time last night and 3 of the 4 playbooks were custom ones. There were no problems but potentially some could be unbalanced. In our case one seemed underpowered rather than anything

  2. It can be a bad i idea to offer playbooks together that are meant as replacements for each other. Like the wizard and the Mage.

Or when you offer classes together that are better at a particular stick then others. Like something that can outfight the fighter shouldn’t be offered together with the fighter. Figuring this stuff out might be hard though without some insight I to he system.

  3. I tend to stick to the “core classes” but I purchase all of the 3rd party classes I can. I like to rip moves from these to use for my own compendium classes.
