What are some recommend places to host an online campaign of Dungeon World?

What sites/forums have people found to be awesome for conducting a Dungeon World campaign online?

  1. It would be cool to find a place that supports both. Sometimes we would be playing by post (through the week) and then online live during the weekend.

  2. Jay Haase depnd of your needs but with I think you can do whatever you want with google services ; hangouts + roll20 for live playing, and for writings : gDocs & gDrive, g+ pages for characters, community or groups…

  3. http://www.gotexp.com is a PbP site I run. Lots of gamers from the Tavern, and several DW campaigns (and a Dungeon Planet one) going on. Check it out, if you want!

Unfortunately, it’s forum-based PbP only. I stick to Hangouts for live, video gaming.

I’ve used GDocs for PbPs before, that can definitely work too. GDocs and G+ Pages are also awesome for keeping track of campaign info and sharing it with players.

  4. Exemple : players create page+ for their characters (Gm also if needed).

Gm create community for pbp (players uses their page+ for that), he can design categories to fit his needs,  and players can use their page to play on community, keep personnal note (share with a circle composed by himself)…

  5. I’ll put in a +1 for roll20 via G+ Hangouts. It’s working really well for the weekly game I’m running.  Roll20 helped me to find some good players who are really interested in playing the game, plus posting between-game comments in a private forum just for our game. It also gives a shared whiteboard/map which integrates into Hangouts. http://roll20.net

  6. Might also try http://rpol.net.  They’ve been around for many years and have lots of ability to create characters, roll dice, set up GM notes, create multiple threads and even sections for those moments you want to split the party without letting the others see what’s happening.

I almost always go back to them when I am ready for some PbF RPGs. ^_^

Other than that, http://rpggeek.com has a thriving PbF community, and several Dungeon World games to boot.
