I’m not sure “negligible resource” is such a good idea. I mean, as a GM I’d be more willing to imperil and kill the animal companion of a ranger like that, which means your background basically means you drop 50 coin now and again.
Unless you get to re-choose your new animal companion’s statistics? …then it might almost be too good.
