As the holiday season approaches, I’ve been thinking of running a holiday/Christmas themed adventure one-shot for my players. Now, I could just run a silly game with the basic classes and skin some new monsters up for everything, but I then I thought, “Why not write some new easy base classes with a Christmas theme?”

So my question is this, does something like this exist already? If not, would anyone want to collaborate on some silly alternate classes for the season?

Also, let’s throw out some near ideas for adventures concerning the holiday season!

  1. I’d reskin classes! The Artificer becomes a present gadget maker, the Cleric channels the Spirit of Christmas and The Alchemist stuffs his face with enchanted Christmas Cake, brandy wine and mince pies. Love the idea, and the quest above 🙂

  2. Hehe, yep, the base classes can be very christmassy if you want ’em to be. The Druid’s land is obviously the Arctic Circle, the Ranger can navigate through a blizzard by following his animal companion’s glowing nose, and we can all guess what sort of songs the Bard sings.

Also, I know it’s not DW, but there’s a cute little FATE book called “Spirit of the Season,” about superhero philanthropist Nick Saint (codename Secret Santa), whose Naughty List includes the greedy Doctor Scrooge, the coal-powered Lady Blackheart, and Jacques Frost and his army of resurrected ice-age monsters.
