I sometimes use the ideas from apocalypse world if I’m making a more savage town/city like an Orc fort or ratmen swamp settlement
I usually pile up tags both already existing and homebrewed without caring much of the actual steading creation.

There should have been a Steading Creation cheat sheet like there is for monsters. The absence of it has the rules quite in accessible.
Kasper Brohus yes. In fact, I feel like steadings might be more interesting to make if you made them like a monster, by asking questions, rather than picking stuff off a list. Having said that, I’m not sure what the questions should be.
