Jordan Richer mentioned last night that his GM came prepared for a new session with just two sentences.
I might take this a step further for our office campaign and choose two lyrics from two randomly selected songs. Here’s what I got:
And there ain’t no day, and there ain’t no night
“Into The White” – The Pixies
Turn your back on mother nature
“Everybody Wants To Rule The World” – Tears For Fears
I’d like to hear about this two sentence idea. Can you elaborate on that?
I like the lyric idea too, but random doesn’t appeal to me as much.
I once based the villains’ plot in an early Fate fantasy game I ran on the lyrics to “Jolene”.
I’m not sure how it went down, but it sounded like the GM just had a 2 sentence description of the adventure he wanted to run.
You could almost add them as custom principles, as a way to direct your inspiration.
“Evoke the feeling these sentences/lyrics inspire:”
Right on, thank you.

I have had so much stuff come from randomly caught snippets of songs or a nice sentence out of a book. It’s how a lot of moves get made, in my head. song titles or lyrics converted into mechanisms. it’s a fun game to play.
I’m thinking (in this case) I’d go with some kind of “constant eclipse” and then ask the players how nature was abandoned.
