When the Wild Hunt is upon you tell how you are going to avoid it and roll+Smth (like Defy Danger move). On 10+ choose 3. On 7-9 choose 2. On 6- choose one and probably there will be other consequences as well.

_ you have survived

_ you have hidden from the Hunt

_ you haven’t joined the Hunt

_ you remember everything that have happened

  1. But why would i ever not choose to die? That option overshadows the other ones i think.

Also you still would get to roll Last Breath. So you could choose not to survive and still survive…

  2. If you roll 6- and choose that you’ve survived that means that you’ve joined the Hunt and did things you don’t remember. Sometimes it could be better to die.

As for the Last Breath – no. You didn’t survive.

  3. Do you really think a character would just throw his character away like that without even a chance at a last breath? You are forcing them to take that option or die. That is not an interesting/fun choice.

  4. I like it, the move is exactly like it was 10+ choose 2 7-9 choose 1 except that the player COULD choose to die rather than join the hunt….. no wait that doesn’t work. I think it needs to be 2 different moves depending on weather you run from or join the hunt.

  5. I’m sorry Tim Franzke but I think it might not be interesting just to you. I know some of my players will find it interesting and fitting to end their PCs life into such a heroic sacrifies.

It’s not some random encounter. It’s The Wild Hunt. Headed by one of the mightiest faerie lords. It can devastate land for many miles around.

    As for:

    >>Dying on a success doesn’t really work.

You really think that dying cannot be success?
