Can you tell me your experiences with the Dark heart of the Dreamer dungeon creation and countdown boxes rules? I read them and thought they might make the game to procedural. On the other hand they stop you from aimlessly meandering through the dungeon (but this is in inteself a golden opportunity and time for a hard move that will change things up)

  1. In my games dungeons are Dis’ randomly interconnected bowels and as such far from procedural. Bat shit crazy they are actually. Don’t remember a single time players entered the dungeon without a huge threat on their shoulders.

  2. I used them while my group was racing along the hidden Halfling trails in the Spirit Wood. It worked pretty well. They’d cross over hill and dale, and is roll to discover what was through the next glen. No complaints, really, and it amped up the drama when — according to my roll — the escaping Kobold nearly made it to the source of the Lizard-folk danger (ie, their base camp).
