Does anyone know what the translation for the Dungeon World motto on the t shirts says?

Does anyone know what the translation for the Dungeon World motto on the t shirts says?

I found this translation on Google+:

Contra omnes pericula

colligatum in armis

in tenebras arcem

ob thesaurum et gloria

Against all dangers

bound together in arms

into the dark stonghold

for treasure and glory

But there seem to have been some changes made, particularly to the last sentence, which now reads “Direptum praedam et gloriam quaesitum.” Is it just spelling/grammar corrections, or did the meaning of the last sentence change?

Google translate suggests “Plundered plunder and glory sought”… Maybe it’s something like “Seeking plunder and glory?”

  1. Sorry for the delay, Adam; I was at OrcCon.

Dylan: I’m not sure of the source for the where the original text and translation, but it was the classic case of the words all meaning the right thing but the grammar not working, so all of the changes were to get the grammar working properly. Mostly to clean up agreement of case, gender and number.

The verbs in the last sentence are accusative supines of purpose, so (literally and in “translationese): “for the purpose of seizing booty and seeking glory”.

The English text you give above is a correct translation for the Latin on the t-shirt.
